Ego: Good or Not So Good?

Scott Adams has had a series of podcasts recently where he shares his persuasion and hypnosis education and training to unleash your own self-power by creating filters to weaken our own Egos. Releasing one's Ego puts us in the present and frees us from anxiety. Here 9 signs that your Ego may be in control of your life ... and the author's 'takeaway. See Source link for details.

1. Too much is never enough ... Attempt to rein in your impulses
2. Disliking when other people succeed ...Congratulate someone, do it anyways
3. Redirect attention back to you ... Attention-seeking behavior is counter-productive, plus it’s obnoxious, rude, and annoying
4. Constantly comparing yourself ... Instead of likening yourself with others, focus on what you can control – your effort, progress, and persistence.
5. Craving Respect and Recognition ... The only respect that you should require is self-respect.
6. Always being Defensive ... Actively listen while accepting resistance and constructive criticism.
7. Rarely (if ever) helping others ... Do something positive for others
8. Setting unattainable goals ... Goals are great, but be realistic
9. Manipulating others ... Don’t use manipulation to get what you want. You'll likely be unsuccessful, and people will quickly lose trust and respect for you
